Mat and Kyle are absolute professionals. Had a couple of quotes for flooring and carpet of the house and wanted carpet runners. Other companies said they couldn’t do it. Revolution said yes we absolutely can and what a job they did. I was nervous about the stairs and they turned out better than expected. The guys turned up on time everyday and were so easy to work with and very accommodating. Emails were replied to extremely quickly which was refreshing to deal with from tradies. Thanks again guys. Would recommend you to anyone who wants top quality and professionally installed flooring with no hassles.

November 3, 2024I’d give them 6 stars if possible!!! We needed our carpet replaced and our stairs carpet fixed at the same time. The work Matthew did was very professional. Matthew worked through styles, colours and price points with us and made sure we were all on the same page. I have used other carpet suppliers before Revolution Flooring, but from now on – for ANYTHING flooring, I’m coming back to Revolution Flooring. I love the passion and professional attitude – it’s refreshing to find such an excellent company. I highly recommend these folks – regardless of your flooring needs.

FAQ's
“What’s the best flooring for Queensland investment homes?
Short answer: Vinyl plank flooring.
Long answer: You need something that can handle Queensland’s heat, humidity, and sometimes wild weather without warping, swelling, or becoming a maintenance nightmare.
We recommend:
- Vinyl plank flooring for budget-friendly, waterproof, and easy-to-clean flooring that still looks great.
Engineered timber if you’re after natural beauty and higher-end appeal, and you’re okay with a little more TLC.
We avoid recommending solid timber or low-end laminate for most Queensland homes, they just don’t hold up in this climate long-term.

“What’s the best flooring for families with kids?"
Kids are tough on floors. Between spills, toy drops, muddy shoes, snack accidents, and the occasional marker-on-the-floor moment, your flooring needs to be up for anything.
Here’s what we recommend for family homes:
Vinyl Plank Flooring
Fully waterproof and durable
Budget-friendly but still stylish and practical
Warm and quiet underfoot – great for toddlers and noisy play
What we don’t recommend:
Carpet in main living or play areas. It stains easily, traps dust and allergens, and generally doesn’t hold up well in busy family zones.
Bonus Tip: Adding a rug in play areas can help soften the space and protect your flooring and you can replace it easily when it’s seen better days.

“What’s the best flooring for pets?”
Pets bring a lot of joy… and a fair bit of mess. Whether it’s muddy paws, shedding fur, sharp claws, or the occasional accident, your floors need to be tough, easy to clean, and built to last.
Here’s what we recommend:
Vinyl Plank Flooring
Fully waterproof and soft underfoot
Quiet for indoor pets and less likely to show scratches
Available in a wide range of colours and textures, including timber and tile-look styles
Tile-Look Flooring (Vinyl)
Gives you the clean, modern look of tiles without the cold, hard surface
Easier to install and far more forgiving underfoot – for pets and humans
What we don’t recommend:
Carpet. It traps fur, holds onto odours, and stains easily. We also steer clear of cheap laminate, it doesn’t handle moisture well and can scratch quickly.

“What’s the difference between vinyl and laminate?”
Laminate and Vinyl flooring are both stylish, water-resistant, and low maintenance. They often look similar but they’re built differently and perform in different ways.
Vinyl Plank Flooring
Made from flexible PVC
Fully waterproof, perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, and homes with pets
Softer and quieter underfoot
Usually glued down or loose-laid
Sits lower, which is useful when matching existing floor heights
Ideal for comfort, sound absorption, and budget-friendly renovations
Laminate Flooring
Built with a rigid core and a decorative printed layer for a realistic timber look
Waterproof and highly durable, even in busy households
Slightly thicker and firmer underfoot
Installed as a floating floor using a click-lock system
Often more realistic in appearance due to its structure
Great for high-traffic areas, families, and long-term use
Vinyl is softer and more flexible, great if you want warmth and comfort.
Laminate is stronger and more stable, better if you want something tough that lasts.
“What are the pro’s and cons of vinyl flooring?”
Vinyl plank flooring is one of the most popular choices for modern homes — especially in Queensland. It’s waterproof, practical, and looks great. But like any material, it has its ups and downs.
Pros of Vinyl Plank Flooring:
1. Fully waterproof
Great for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and homes with pets or kids.
2. Comfortable underfoot
Softer and warmer than tiles or timber, which makes it easier on your feet and quieter too.
3. Budget-friendly
Gives you the look of timber or tile without the higher cost or maintenance.
4. Easy to clean
No special cleaners needed. A quick sweep and mop keeps it looking good.
5. Stylish options
Comes in a huge range of colours, textures, and finishes — including timber and tile looks.
6. Low profile
Because it’s thin, it works well in renos where you’re installing over existing flooring or need to match height with other rooms.
Cons of Vinyl Plank Flooring:
1. Can dent or scratch
It’s durable, but not indestructible. Heavy furniture or sharp objects can cause damage if you’re not careful.
2. Doesn’t boost property value like timber
While it looks great, it’s not considered a “premium” finish in higher-end homes.
3. Susceptible to heat damage
Extreme heat or direct sun over time can cause fading or expansion. Good window coverings help with this.
4. Not biodegradable
Vinyl is made from synthetic materials, so it’s not the most environmentally friendly choice.
Vinyl plank flooring is a solid choice if you want something that’s waterproof, comfortable, easy to clean, and stylish without breaking the bank. Just be aware it’s not bulletproof and may not suit every home style or buyer.

"Is carpet the cheapest flooring option?"
Carpet often comes with a lower upfront price compared to timber, hybrid, or quality vinyl flooring. It’s popular because it’s soft, warm, and can transform a room on a budget.
But there’s more to the story:
Initial cost: Carpet is generally cheaper to buy and install than many other flooring types.
Maintenance cost: It tends to wear out faster, especially in high-traffic areas or homes with kids and pets. That means you might need to replace it sooner, which adds up.
Cleaning: Carpets trap dust, dirt, and allergens and often need professional cleaning to stay fresh. That’s extra ongoing cost and effort.
Durability: It’s not as durable or water-resistant as vinyl or hybrid flooring — spills and stains can be a headache.
So, is it the cheapest option?
At first, yes. But over time, the cost of upkeep, cleaning, and replacement might make it more expensive than you expect.

“Should you paint before or after installing a new floor?”
Paint first. It is almost always easier and cleaner.
Here’s why:
There is less risk of damaging your new floor because painting can be messy and splatters or drips are much less stressful on a surface you haven’t just laid.
It is easier to move around and prep because you have more room to get walls, trims, and ceilings done without worrying about scratching or scuffing.
You get cleaner edges and corners since you can tape and paint right down to the skirting without fretting over masking delicate new flooring.
You can do quicker touch-ups later to fix any scuffs from installation or moving furniture.
When might you paint after?
If you are just doing spot repairs or changing colours on trim or baseboards after the floor is installed.
If the flooring install requires some wall adjustments or finishing work.
Paint first, then floor. It is less hassle, less risk, and keeps your beautiful new floors looking perfect from day one.

"What order is the best for organizing your trades?"
Getting your tradespeople in the right order can save you time, money, and a headache or two. Here’s a solid sequence that works for most home projects:
Demolition and Prep
Start with the messy stuff like removing old floors, walls, or fixtures. This clears the way for everything else.Structural Work and Repairs
Any framing, plumbing, electrical rough-ins, or fixing structural issues come next. You want the bones of the house solid before moving forward.Painting and Decorating
Paint walls, ceilings, and trim after the floors are in. This way you avoid damage to new floors.Flooring Installation
Lay down your new floors once walls and structural work are done but before painting and finishing touches.Final Fixtures and Finishes
Bring in the electricians for light fittings, install skirting boards, door hardware, and any final touches.
Keep communication open with all your trades to avoid delays and make sure everyone knows the schedule.
